I recently purchased WBC Jr. Kindergarten Deluxe curriculum and I am very excited! After homeschooling my three children and being a nanny for 4 other children over the years.... I find myself as a nanny once more. Day to day we do just as I did with my own children. Though "my" child is not quite 2, I plan to take each weekly lesson and adapt if necessary to his level. I will use this program when he turns 3 and build on what we accomplished as a toddler. By the age of 4, I plan to utilize this curriculum to it's fullest potential. Thank you WBC for doing what I feel to be the hardest job we have as teachers...that of staying on task and having goals set before us. Thank you for laying the ground work so that we will feel and see such positive results in the little ones we love so dearly. But, most of all, thank you for including guidance in helping our little ones come to know and love our Creator. For any parent or grandparent sitting on the fence, or thinking they will just print out worksheets every day for free, I would like to encourage you to take advantage of a wonderful curriculum. It is not everyday that "school lessons" bring you closer to your child. I wish WBC was around when my children were young!! I would have spent more time teaching and less time worrying about what to teach.
Learning the alphabet is the critical first step in learning how to read. Written by Leigh Lowe, the Alphabet Books teach letter recognition, letter formation, and pencil grip through repetition and tracing. Alphabet Book Part One comes full of activities, created with the younger student in mind, making learning each letter of the alphabet simple and fun. Three-letter words, aided by beautiful illustrations, also provide a simple introduction to phonics. Ages 4-5
The most entertaining alphabet book ever written, this classic Beginner Book by Dr. Seuss is perfect for children learning their ABCs. Featuring a fantastic cast of zany characters—from Aunt Annie’s alligator to the Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz, with a lazy lion licking a lollipop and an ostrich oiling an orange owl—Dr. Seuss’s ABC is a must-have for every young child’s library.
Mercer Mayer's Little Critter learns lessons about manners in these classic, humorous, and heartwarming stories. Featuring Just Say Please and I'm Sorry, this two-in-one picture book is an excellent way to teach little ones the difference between good and bad manners.
Come for a visit in Bear Country with this classic First Time Book® from Stan and Jan Berenstain. Mama has noticed that Papa, Brother, and Sister have not been using their good manners, so now it’s up to her to help get back on track. Includes over 50 bonus stickers!
Children will be ready for more formal number writing after working through Numbers & Colors Book. This book is ideal for a student who is just beginning to work with numbers. Along with introducing each number through 15, color words are taught as well. Plenty of practice is given with both numbers and color words through activities such as counting, connect the dots, coloring, number tracing, pattern recognition, and more! Additional skills of left and right, above and below, and grouping are also introduced.
